Keyworth smashes world postcard record!

The Nottinghamshire village of Keyworth has established a new record for the most picture postcards sent from one place on one day.

With BBC TV cameras present and a school choir entertaining a big crowd, the previous total of 5,216 - established by Tamil Nadu in India - was passed at 12.15pm. More postcards were posted top take the day's total to a massive 8,033. Most of the cards sent - to all corners of the world - were specially sponsored by local clubs and businesses.
